10,000 Hours

Every now and again I watch vlogs on youtube (don’t judge me, they make for good background noise when you are working) and one day I was watching one of Alfie Deyes videos. He said something that caught my attention “if you don’t put the time in, someone else will.”

Sometimes it may seem like way too much effort to work on something when you feel like it’s not getting you anywhere, but if you give up you could be stuck with a job you don’t love and that person who didn’t give up and put in the time has your dream job.

They talk about the whole 10,000 hours of practice before you can be considered a master at what you do. Things don’t happen overnight or at the snap of your fingers. You have to put in the time and the practice before you get anywhere.

I guess all I am trying to say is put in the time, continue to work on what you love and don’t give up on your dreams even if they feel like they are moving too slowly.

Happy Monday!
