Life Lately

WHERE DID JANUARY GO????? Seriously, I am pretty sure I just blinked and it disappeared, and I can’t believe it has been a whole month since my last post. That is just sad. Definitely wasn’t planned that I miss the whole month, but I had a website to finish among other things for work and a missed week turned in to two and here we are… I thought I would do a little “life lately” update since it has been so long.

I want to say that life lately has been busy but I watched a Chase Jarvis video today and he said that “busy isn’t success, it is a lack of priority” and now I feel like a child that has been scolded. Seriously though, watch the video, he is awesome. So instead of saying busy I’ll just say that I haven’t been bored over the last month.

There has been a lot of fun stuff happening at work. Most recently Valentines decoration making. Which just reminds me I have the coolest job ever. I mean, how many people can say they get paid to make decorations and play with glitter.

To me January is one of those months that DRAGS on. Usually I spend the days counting down till summer comes back. While I am still wishing for summer to hurry up and come back, I managed to get out and have some fun in the snow a couple of times.Hike-11

A few friends and I went for a 4.5 hour hike/snowshoe/butt slide. It definitely showed how out of shape I am (gotten a little lazy over the winter oops) but it was soooooo much fun. It took us three hours to get to the top and an hour and a half to get down. It may have taken us less time to get down but I almost feel it was harder. Some steps you would take the snow would be hip deep and after walking through snow for three hours, digging yourself out of those holes is not easy. Hike-10

We had a little break at the top to eat before starting our butt sliding down (side note: when sliding down a mountain DO NOT stick your feet in to stop, you will do a face plant with snowshoes and a backpack on your back). Definitely recommend snowshoeing to anyone who doesn’t know what to do in the winter. It can be hard work if you are going straight up a mountain but so worth it when you get to the top.IMG_0045

Another fun moment in the snow was snowboarding with a bunch of Aussies. This is the first year in about 5 years that I have gone snowboarding and I had forgotten how much fun it is. That being said, I will forever be a summer girl and can’t wait to do summer activities when it is warm out rather than being out in the cold (paddleboarding anyone?).life lately

Who else thinks that January just disappeared? Who else is excited that with January done it means we are that much closer to flip flop weather?

Should I stop mentioning summer now?

Happy Friday!
